1. Remember God created us to be productive
Working productively allows us to honor God and to do good works for his glory.
We should be wise in the way we go about our everyday chores: taking care of the
children, work, household work, school, etc. Using every opportunity to do
good works to glorify God.
God created with an overwhelming desire to soar. Our desire to develop
and use every ounce of potential He’s placed in us is not egotistical.
He designed us to be tremendously productive and
“to mount up with wings like eagles,” realistically dreaming of
what He can do with our potential.
– Carol Kent
2. We should seek to live productively because this is important to God
Avoid time wasters like checking your social media over and over, playing games on
your phone throughout the day, daydreaming, and laziness. These activities will not
produce the good works that God seeks you to do. Put your phone down, get your
head out of the clouds or get off the sofa, be productive and give thanks to God.
3. Continually renew your mind to help you follow God’s will
Continually renew your mind to help you follow God’s will for what you should
accomplish. Ask the Holy Spirit to give you the wisdom you need to do so.
Whenever you are battling evil thoughts or feel you just don’t have the energy,
ask Jesus to heal your soul.
4. Work your hardest in all you do for God’s glory. You will be rewarded!
We have the opportunity to worship God through our attitudes, relationships,
work habits, and by what we produce. We need to be people who take our work
seriously and seek to be as productive as possible for the glory of God.
“If a man is called to be a street sweeper, he should sweep streets even as
Michelangelo painted, or Beethoven composed music or Shakespeare wrote
poetry. He should sweep streets so well that all the hosts of heaven
and earth will pause to say, here lived a great street sweeper who did his
job well.” Martin Luther King
Remember:
Your good works are not about what you’re doing for God,
but what God is doing through you.
God created with an overwhelming desire to soar.
Our desire to develop and use every ounce
of potential He’s placed in us is not egotistical.
He designed us to be tremendously productive
and “to mount up with wings like eagles,”
realistically dreaming of what He can do
with our potential.
– Carol Kent
Matthew 5:16
“Let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works
and give glory to your Father who is in Heaven.”
